Given the current state of COVID-19 in Connecticut and the importance of keeping our kids in school, our GYW club has decided to make significant changes for the season. These changes will allow the kids to maintain their physical conditioning and to be ready for a wrestling season should the COVID-19 situation materially change for the better. Additionally, it gives them the opportunity to see one another again which helps to instill their sense of team.
In lieu of beginning a wrestling season with lots of physical contact, we have made arrangements with CrossFit 033 in Glastonbury to conduct socially distanced cross fit training with a strong wrestling focus for our club. We will train three days per week on Tuesday 7:30-8:15, Thursday 7-7:45 and Sunday 11-11:45. Athletes will be socially distanced by family, and will participate in a high quality 45 minute workout, conducted by a professional trainer, that is geared towards strengthening the muscle groups used in wrestling.
Should your child be interested in joining our CrossFit conditioning, please contact Coach Nick at (203)-640-7498.
